Château Haut Batailley 2011 Pauillac 750ML
Winery: Chateau Haut Batailley
Country: France - Pauillac
Château Haut-Batailley is a relative newcomer on the Bordeaux scene, though its parent estate Batailley is one of the oldest and largest in Pauillac. It was created in 1942 by brothers François and Marcel Borie, co-founders of the prestigious negociant firm Borie-Manoux. Haut-Batailley remains today under Borie family ownership, alongside Château Grande-Puy-Lacoste and Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. The last three years have been fabulous for Haut-Batailley and Grand-Puy-Lacoste. Xavier Borie produces wines with so much freshness and flamboyance they are almost not like the
tight brooding masses that a lot of Pauillac seems to be. Haut-Batailley wears its heart on its sleeve. It’s fun, cool, elegant with a fabulously long, fresh finish, leaving you with a mouthful of ripe raspberries. Lovely!
